Exposure to PFAS in the air

Kemakta presented a poster last week at the EnvironChemTox Symposium 2025 in Amsterdam on risk assessment of exposure to PFAS in the air at a water treatment plant.
Guideline values for PFAS-4 in air were derived from EFSA’s toxicity data. The measured concentrations in different parts of the treatment plant exceeded these health-based guideline values. The study shows that it is possible to establish relevant air guideline values based on existing toxicological thresholds for dietary intake.
