Measurement uncertainties project

Measurement uncertainties project

Obtaining a representative level of the contamination level in the soil is crucial for correct assessments to be made regarding risks associated with the contamination and how any future action can be followed up. Uncertainties exist along the entire chain – from sampling to the final analysis protocol.

In this project, one of approximately 40 identified former forest nurseries that SGU is responsible for inventorying, investigating and, if necessary, taking action was investigated. Three sampling strategies were evaluated on one and the same cultivation field. In addition, sampling and analysis uncertainties were also evaluated, as well as the impact of different sample preparations on the analysis results.

The project group’s work is now available in a final report produced by in collaboration with SGI and SGU (in Swedish). Enjoy reading!
