Avfall Sverige\u2019s report 2024:09, Guidance on the Classification of Hazardous Waste<\/em>, has now been updated with the annex Contaminated Materials \u2013 Assessment of Hazardous Properties<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The annex replaces the previous guidance issued in 2019 and has been updated to reflect changes in legislation and substance classifications. It provides support for the classification and management of contaminated materials and includes, among other things, updated recommendations on reference substances and concentration limits, as well as an enhanced approach to the management of POPs (persistent organic pollutants).<\/p>\n

The aim is for the updated annex to serve as a practical resource for everyone involved in the classification and management of contaminated soil\/masses.<\/p>\n

The annex was prepared by Mark Elert, Karin Norrfors and Astrid Oleskog of Kemakta Konsult AB.<\/p>\n

The report is now available from Avfall Sverige (in Swedish):<\/p>\n
