L\u00f6sta \u00e4mnen kan transporteras med grundvattnets fl\u00f6de eller genom diffusionsprocesser i berg och jord.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e5nga bergmineral har negativt laddade ytor vilket attraherar positivt laddade katjoner som ansamlas intill mineralytan. Ansamlingen av katjonerna vid ytan kan dock inte fullt balansera ytans negativa potential och sp\u00e4nningsf\u00e4ltet str\u00e4cker sig ut ett antal nanometer fr\u00e5n ytan in i vattenfasen. Detta bildar ett f\u00e4lt som kallas ett elektriskt dubbellager, d\u00e4r sp\u00e4nningsf\u00e4ltet tr\u00e4nger undan negativt laddade anjoner fr\u00e5n ytan. Fenomenet brukar kallas anjonexklusion, vilket syftar p\u00e5 att negativt laddade joner exkluderas fr\u00e5n en del av porens tv\u00e4rsnitt som d\u00e4rmed reducerar deras mobilitet. Hur stor effekten blir beror bl.a. av porvidden, vattnets jonstyrka och mineralytornas egenskaper.<\/p>\n<p>Kemakta arbetar med att ta fram numeriska modeller f\u00f6r att beskriva effekten av anjonsexklusion p\u00e5 porskala. Detta f\u00f6r att b\u00e4ttre f\u00f6rst\u00e5 hur jonernas transport p\u00e5verkas i enskilda porer med olika geometriska och kemiska f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar, samt hur interaktioner mellan l\u00f6sta \u00e4mnen och mineralytor (ex. jonbyte och sorption) p\u00e5verkas.
