Kemakta has experience with the comprehensive regulations governing the classification, management, and disposal of waste. Previous projects include assessments of whether specific waste should be classified as inert, non-hazardous, or hazardous, as well as the use of suitable testing methods and leaching tests for waste classification. Kemakta’s clients include waste management facilities, recycling companies, the mining industry, and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturv\u00e5rdsverket). On behalf of Avfall Sverige (the Swedish Waste Management Association), Kemakta has developed guidelines for classifying contaminated soil according to waste regulations.<\/p>\n

Kemakta’s landfill investigations focus on assessing the extent and effects of potential leaks, developing and revising control programs, creating programs for characterizing leachate, water balances, and providing documentation for permit applications. Special methods are required for mining waste to avoid high metal emissions. We have worked with the Swedish mining industry and have also participated in international EU projects (EURARE and BioMore) focusing on highlighting the environmental impacts of mining and developing sustainable production methods.<\/p>\n

Kemakta can also assist with environmental classification and labeling of chemical substances and mixtures. According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272\/2008, manufacturers, importers, and downstream users are obligated to classify substances and mixtures placed on the market to protect health and the environment. The classification of chemical products also provides important information for waste classification when the products become waste.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
