These investigations are particularly carried out within the framework of safety analyses for the disposal of nuclear waste. Our investigations cover the biosphere, geosphere, and repository, giving us a good overall perspective. We have contributed to the safety analyses of Svensk K\u00e4rnbr\u00e4nslehantering (SKB) since the mid-1970s and have also undertaken assignments for authorities, such as the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), and international nuclear waste organizations, such as the Finnish Posiva, where we have contributed to safety analyses like TURVA 2012 and SC-OLA.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;text-margin-bottom p-text-margin&#8221;]The assignments include conducting specific investigations of physical and chemical processes, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quantifying the solubility of trace elements in different soil types and predicting the mobility of radionuclides and other elements within the soil<\/li>\n<li>Quantifying element-specific uptake factors (CR) for animals and plants<\/li>\n<li>Quality assurance of input data for safety analyses<\/li>\n<li>Quantifying sorption processes in rock, accounting for varying groundwater chemical conditions (smart Kd)<\/li>\n<li>Sorption processes in bentonite clay and concrete<\/li>\n<li>Long-term chemical leaching of concrete in a disposal environment<\/li>\n<li>Assessing the impact of earth currents on the corrosion of installations in the rock<\/li>\n<li>Calculating the transport of radionuclides and other chemical substances in fractured rock<\/li>\n<li>Exposure pathway analyses<\/li>\n<li>Calculating the transport of radionuclides in the biosphere and doses to humans, animals, and plants<\/li>\n<li>Groundwater chemistry investigations and calculations (e.g., PhreeqC)<\/li>\n<li>Investigations of future human actions and their effects on radiation safety<\/li>\n<li>Hydrogeological investigations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][vc_column
